The Rochester Rattlers have acquired midfielder Dan Hardy from the Chesapeake Bayhawks. The Rattlers sent the Bayhawks the 10th and 22nd overall selections in the 2012 MLL Collegiate Draft in exchange for Hardy and the 13th overall selection in the 2012 MLL Collegiate Draft.
“We are excited to add Dan Hardy to our roster as we look to bolster our midfield production.” said Rattlers owner and general manager Rob Clark. “We look forward to having Hardy's veteran leadership in both the locker room and on the field”
Dan Hardy has played three seasons in Major League Lacrosse with the Chesapeake Bayhawks (2011) and the Denver Outlaws (2009, 2010). He has 28 goals and 27 assists in twenty-nine career games. Last season he scored six goals and added six assists for twelve points in only eight games with the Chesapeake Bayhawks.
“We are and will continue to makes moves that we feel fit the needs of our team for the 2012 season and beyond. The most recent moves we've made addressed a need we have at midfield. The addition of Dan Hardy makes our midfield unit better. He can come in and make an impact right away, and his size and scoring ability will make us harder to defend. We are very excited to welcome Dan aboard!” Rochester Rattlers Head Coach Tim Soudan said.
Hardy, the 6’4” 208 pound middie, played four years at Syracuse University. He was a three-time All-American and a two-time National Champion with the Orange. He had eighty-three career goals and fifty-three career assists for one hundred thirty-six points. He was one of the top five scorers on the Syracuse roster for all four years on campus.
The Rochester Rattlers traded attack Jordan McBride to the Denver Outlaws. McBride scored sixteen goals in seven games during his rookie campaign in 2011. The Rattlers drafted McBride fourteenth overall in the 2011 MLL Collegiate Draft out of Stony Brook. The Rattlers received the twenty-second overall pick in the 2012 MLL Collegiate Draft for McBride. The team then packaged that pick along with the tenth overall pick in the 2012 MLL Collegiate Draft to acquire Hardy.
