Major League Lacrosse is launching an MLL radio channel in partnership with TuneIn. The Rochester Rattlers season opening game against the defending MLL Champion Boston Cannons on Saturday, April 28th 2012 at 7PM will be the first live national broadcast on MLL Radio.
TuneIn is a free mobile app (available on every smart phone) that allows you to play radio stations. You have the ability to listen to TuneIn on your computer, mobile device and through your car stereo (either via a plug in or Bluetooth). TuneIn is working with many of the leading car manufacturers to have its service built right into the car radio system. If you download the app or go to tunein.com just type “MLL Radio” into your search and it will come up.
At launch there are several podcasts on MLL Radio. Over the course of the season MLL Radio will air live 31 of the MLL’s 60 league games (and several times through repeats). In the coming weeks MLL Radio will start to add original shows. They are talking with several people that already are streaming radio shows to have their show on MLL Radio, and they are looking to create shows. Even though the product is being branded as MLL Radio, they will be covering the entire sport of lacrosse and this will be a year round channel. MLL Radio’s objective is to create a forum for lacrosse enthusiasts to talk about the sport.
The Rattlers open the Major League Lacrosse season with three consecutive road games before returning to Rochester on Friday, June 1st at 7PM for their tenth home opener against the Boston Cannons in Sahlen’s Stadium.
